Good Morning

Good Morning

Good Morning drowsy browsers, eager readers and all who aspire to pray without ceasing. Welcome to this new Read Pray Community!

As a morning person I treasure David’s psalm lines: “Weeping may remain for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” As Christ Followers we can all be morning people: each night we pour out confessions, regrets and anxieties, knowing Jesus and The Holy Spirit are interceding for us; each morning we wake full of gratitude for release and renewal. Our hearts, minds, bodies, souls and spirits unite in childlike wonder and hope as God’s Spirit calls our attention to Holy Scriptures.

So our Risen Lord greets each of us, maybe by name as He did for Mary on that first resurrection morning. Maybe with Isaiah’s message, “Arise, shine, for your light has come,” or Paul’s, “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Hymn lines often welcome us as well. After over 70 years of playing, hearing and singing, I rejoice recalling so many, including It Is Morning in my Heart.
